While disposing of Pete's body miles from the safe-zone, Rick and Morgan discovered a large quarry near the safe-zone that contained thousands of walkers, explaining why the safe-zone hasn't been overrun in the past year and a half. The only blockade that kept the walkers from escaping were semi trucks on a ridge which was beginning to give way. Rick returned to the safe-zone and proposed that the community not only be taught how to defend themselves, but also to help release the herd and divert them away from the safe-zone. Carter, a member of the construction crew, was not accepting of Rick's rule or his plan. Before the community ventured out, Carter attempted to rally other residents against Rick and kill him. Eugene Porter overheard, however, and before he could be killed, Rick intervened and established his rule as a leader of the community, but spared Carter's life.

Across demographic groups, fewer than half are satisfied, with the exception of Latinos (56%), those with a high school degree or less (55%), and those making less than $40,000 (53%). Six in ten likely voters say they are following news about the 2022 governor’s race very (25%) or fairly (35%) closely—a share that has risen from half just a month ago (17% very, 33% fairly). This finding is somewhat similar to October 2018, when 68 percent said this (28% very, 40% closely) a month before the previous gubernatorial election. Today, majorities across partisan, demographic, and regional groups say they are following news about the gubernatorial election either very or fairly closely.

As defined by the federal government, the Chicago metro area includes several counties in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, and has a population of over 9.8 million. Chicago itself is a cosmopolitan city, densely populated, industrialized, the transportation hub of the nation, and settled by a wide variety of ethnic groups. The city of Rockford, Illinois's third-largest city and center of the state's fourth largest metropolitan area, sits along Interstates 39 and 90 some 75 mi northwest of Chicago.

Additionally, Illinois supports 49 public community colleges in the Illinois Community College System. The Pritzker family is based in Chicago and have played important roles in both the private and the public sectors. The Stevenson family, initially rooted in central Illinois and later based in the Chicago metropolitan area, has provided four generations of Illinois officeholders. The dragstrip at Gateway International Raceway and the Route 66 Raceway, which sits on the same property as the Chicagoland Speedway, both host NHRA drag races. The city was formerly home to several other teams that either failed to survive or belonged to leagues that folded. The Bradley Braves are MVC members, and the SIU Edwardsville Cougars (in the Metro East region across the Mississippi River from St. Louis) compete in the OVC.

Microsoft is building an Xbox mobile store to directly offer games on mobile devices, challenging Apple and Google. The software giant first hinted at a “next-generation” store it would “build for games” earlier this year but has now quietly revealed details of the plans in filings with the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority . In "For Blood" and "No Other Way", a massive storm set fire to the town's windmill, drawing in a herd that invaded the town through at least two breaches that were opened in the weakened wall. However, the residents managed to put out the fire, seal the breaches and eliminate the invading walkers. With the Whisperers becoming even more dangerous under the new leadership of Beta, both Alexandria and Oceanside, the last two remaining communities, are abandoned in favor of taking refuge at the Tower. When Beta leads his horde to Alexandria, he finds the community completely abandoned, although he is secretly watched by Aaron and Alden.
When they all return, they find the saviors back in Alexandria, with Negan having Carl with him after he got into the Sanctuary. Earlier, when he arrived with his Saviors, Olivia nervously tells Negan that Rick is out scavenging and might not return that day. Negan crudely proposes sexual relations with Olivia while they wait for Rick; Olivia slaps him, though he laughs if off. He is then sitting on Rick's porch with Carl and Judith and thinking about killing Rick and Carl to settle with the saviors into Alexandria.

Includes all metropolitan areas that have a population of 150,000 or greater according to the most recent national census. In addition, the Chicago Medical School and Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine are located in the suburbs of North Chicago and Maywood, respectively. The Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine is in Downers Grove. Domestic and industrial waste was once incinerated but it is now landfilled, mainly in the Calumet area. From 1995 to 2008, the city had a blue bag program to divert recyclable refuse from landfills. Because of low participation in the blue bag programs, the city began a pilot program for blue bin recycling like other cities.
Epic eventually called on Microsoft to help argue its case in court, and Microsoft cranked up the pressure on Apple with some significant Windows store changes days ahead of the Epic v. Apple trial last year. Microsoft says these same principles will also apply to the future Xbox mobile store, which could be enough to lure developers onto the platform. One company that might be particularly interested is Epic Games, which has allied itself with Microsoft in the past few years in the fight against Apple’s App Store policies. In a graph posted at Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard acquisition site, the company depicts the entire gaming market as worth $165 billion in 2020, with consoles making up $33 billion , PCs at $40 billion , and mobile gaming at $85 billion . Microsoft’s acknowledgment of a mobile gaming push comes as the company increasingly positions Xbox Cloud Gaming as an option for mobile gaming on emerging handhelds. Microsoft was quick to support Xbox Cloud Gaming on Valve’s Steam Deck, followed by a partnership with Logitech and Razer for their cloud gaming-focused handhelds.
The South Cameron Woodlot is a neighbourhood that stretches west from South Cameron Boulevard to Huron Church Road, and south from Tecumseh Road West to Northwood Street. One of Windsor's main thoroughfares connecting the north and south ends of the city is Dominion Boulevard. When South Windsor was being built in the 1950s and 1960s, many residents referred to it as Tin Can Alley because there was nothing there. Today, homes are all along this street and there is increasing development into the old woodlots on both the east and west sides of Dominion. It was built during the 1970s and consists mostly of single-family homes, both owned and rented, in a relatively small area.
Sasha escorts Maggie to the Hilltop while the others return to Alexandria. When the apocalypse began, the governor of Virginia declared a state of emergency and requested government assistance in handling the epidemic, bringing in FEMA. FEMA chose the Barrington House as one of its safe-zones, bringing trailers to the location as well as defense, security, and supplies. As survivors began to arrive to the now Hilltop Colony, they found themselves abandoned. Like every other government and military power across the United States, FEMA abandoned the Hilltop due to Operation Cobalt, leaving the survivors to fend for themselves. The terrain offered fertile land and crops, while the hill they presided on would offer them an advantage of oncoming survivors and the undead.

All of Rick's group were interviewed by Deanna about who they were, their skills, and what they'd encountered out there. In August 2010, Alexandria was converted into a quarantine safe-zone for politicians by the U.S. Ohio Congresswoman Deanna Monroe, her husband Reg Monroe, and their sons Aiden and Spencer were attempting to evacuate D.C. They were instead directed by the military to the neighborhood, among others from D.C. The Monroes and Raleighs were ordered to wait for their return, which never occurred.
In the 1930s, the family who owned the house gave it to the state and made it into a museum. For years since then, elementary schools around the state would make field trips to the house. The house was also used to host community events such as Chamber of Commerce Meetings. Hilltop formed a council after Tara's death and became a permanent home for the residents of the Kingdom after the community fell. During the Whisperer War, the people of Hilltop were forced to abandon it after the Whisperers shot a volley of fire arrows over the walls, setting the community ablaze and damaging the buildings beyond repair. Following the fall of the Whisperers, Maggie returned and worked on rebuilding Hilltop.
Six years after Rick's apparent death, Alexandria has grown and prospered even more in its isolation. However, as the conflict with the Whisperers begins, Alexandria finds itself drawn out of its isolation more and more, starting with the arrival of Magna's group seeking sanctuary. After Daryl returns seeking help for an injured Henry, Judith Grimes convinces Michonne of the need to help their friends. Michonne first sends a delegation to the Kingdom's trade fair and then goes herself where Gabriel, as head of the council, signs the charter Michonne had written, making Alexandria a part of the Coalition and ending its isolation completely. However, Alexandria suffers painful losses in the massacre that Alpha performs, losing several of its current and former residents, including D.J., Frankie, Tara, and Enid. Rick and Carl look on in horror as a body plummets to the ground, from Michonne's balcony post.
The Chicago Transit Authority handles public transportation in the City of Chicago and a few adjacent suburbs outside of the Chicago city limits. The CTA operates an extensive network of buses and a rapid transit elevated and subway system known as the 'L' (for "elevated"), with lines designated by colors. The CTA's rail lines consist of the Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Brown, Purple, Pink, and Yellow lines. Both the Red and Blue lines offer 24‑hour service which makes Chicago one of a handful of cities around the world to offer rail service 24 hours a day, every day of the year, within the city's limits. Seven mainline and four auxiliary interstate highways (55, 57, 65 , 80 , 88, 90 , 94 , 190, 290, 294, and 355) run through Chicago and its suburbs.
Along with Boston, Chicago is the only city to continuously host major professional sports since 1871, having only taken 1872 and 1873 off due to the Great Chicago Fire. All of its major franchises have won championships within recent years – the Bears , the Bulls , the White Sox , the Cubs , the Blackhawks , and the Fire . Chicago literature finds its roots in the city's tradition of lucid, direct journalism, lending to a strong tradition of social realism.
